GUIDE
Get your fit right the first time. Accurate size charts for motorcycle racing suits, MotoGP jackets, touring bags, saddle bags, and rider backpacks β with step-by-step measurement instructions.
Step 1
How to Take
Your Measurements
Use a soft tape measure. Wear a thin base layer only β no bulky clothing. Ask a friend to help for accuracy. Take each measurement twice and use the larger number.
Wear a base layer Measure in the base layer you'll ride in. A thermal undersuit or compression layer adds bulk that affects fit.
Ask a friend Chest, back, and inseam are nearly impossible to measure accurately on yourself. One wrong measurement leads to the wrong size.
Between sizes? Go up Leather suits stretch 3β5% after break-in (2β3 ride sessions). If you're between sizes, size up for comfort; the leather will conform to your body.

One-piece vs two-piece fit One-piece suits run snug β they're designed for an aerodynamic, second-skin fit. In riding position they feel natural. Two-piece suits are more relaxed and easier to wear off the bike. For two-piece, match jacket and trousers to your chest and waist measurements separately.
Applies to: MotoGP Racing Jackets Β· Custom Made Jackets Β· One-Piece & Two-Piece Jackets. Jackets are sized by chest and arm length primarily.

Jacket armour check When trying on or measuring: shoulder armour should sit directly on the shoulder joint. Elbow armour must cover the elbow when your arm is bent at 90Β°. Back protector should sit flat across the full upper back without riding up.
Rider backpacks are sized by capacity (litres) and torso length, not clothing size. Use the chart below to find the right fit for your back length.
| Model | Capacity | Torso Length cm / in |
Dimensions (HΓWΓD) cm |
Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Compact | 15L | 38β44 / 15β17.5 | 42 Γ 28 Γ 15 | Daily commute, short trips |
| Mid | 22L | 42β50 / 16.5β20 | 50 Γ 30 Γ 18 | Weekend rides, laptop carry |

| Adventure | 36L | 50β60 / 20β23.5 | 65 Γ 35 Γ 22 | Long-haul, overlanding |
Torso length = distance from base of neck (C7 vertebra) to top of hip bone (iliac crest). Measure with a straight back.

Common Questions
Sizing
FAQ
How do I measure for a motorcycle racing suit?
+You need six measurements: chest (around fullest part under armpits), waist (natural waistline), hips (widest point), inseam (crotch to ankle), height (barefoot against wall), and arm length (shoulder seam to wrist with arm at 90Β°). Always measure wearing only a thin base layer and ask a friend to help for accuracy on the chest, back, and inseam.
Do Fortify Sports racing suits run true to size?
+Our suits follow standard European sizing. If you fall exactly between two sizes, we recommend sizing up for touring use or staying true-to-size for track use where a snug aerodynamic fit is preferred. Leather suits naturally stretch 3β5% after break-in (typically 2β3 riding sessions of 1β2 hours). The biggest stretching occurs across the chest and shoulders.
What capacity touring bags do I need for a week-long trip?
+For a 7β10 day tour, plan for 70β100L total across your whole luggage setup. A typical setup would be: large saddle bags (2Γ25β30L = 50β60L) + expandable tail bag (35β40L). A tank bag adds 10β15L for valuables and quick-access items. Pack the rule of thumb β allow 10β15L per night of touring. Experienced long-distance riders tend to pack lighter over time.
What's the difference between one-piece and two-piece suit sizing?
+One-piece suits are sized by the dominant measurement β usually chest β but torso length and inseam are critical because there's no waist break. Riders with long legs and short torsos (or vice versa) often do better with a custom one-piece. Two-piece suits let you size the jacket and trousers independently, so you can size M for a slimmer jacket fit and L for the trousers if your proportions vary.
How do I know if a saddle bag will fit my bike?
+Measure two things on your bike: (1) the horizontal distance from your rear turn signal to the back of the rider's seat β this determines max bag length; and (2) the clearance between the potential bag position and your exhaust pipes. Allow at least 2β3cm clearance from exhaust heat. Our rackless throw-over bags include an adjustable yoke strap that accommodates most seat widths. Contact us with your bike model and we'll confirm fit compatibility.
Can I order a custom size if I don't fit standard charts?
+Absolutely. As a direct manufacturer, we offer custom-made racing suits and jackets built to your exact six measurements at no additional cost over standard sizing for individual retail orders. Simply choose "Custom Made" in the product options, enter your measurements at checkout, and we'll build your gear to fit. Custom production takes 3β4 weeks. For wholesale custom orders, minimum 50 units applies.
